This Is How You Connect With Words

Updated: Feb 5, 2020

We all crave for that juicy, happy relationship with people.

Even if you don’t believe in that happy-ever-after sh**, you still want to be happy with the person you’re with.

News flash! That comes from the healthy connection we’re able to build with them.

Communication plays a big role building up the right kind of connection. It’s a no brainer. If you don't tell me stuff, how do I know about it?

You don’t need to have full-blown intense ramblings every time you communicate. Sometimes make small talk. You know what they say about little drops making an ocean.

In fact, research has shown that “the mundane and often fleeting moments” of a couple’s daily life have a greater impact on the relationship than deep emotional discussions. Little talk matters, enjoy them.

Doing things together - cooking, travelling, watching a movie, shredding a horribly dressed person *evil laughter* - also helps build that connection you dream of.

Most importantly, LISTEN!

Mahn! This is an entire article on it’s own. Nothing could be more annoying than having to tell someone the same thing over and over again.

This is usually a deal breaker for some people. Imagine having to tell your boyfriend not to leave the toilet seat down every f**kin time! The horror! Or having your girl cut huge chunks of onions in your food when you’ve repeatedly told her how much you hate onions.

Knowing that you’re being heard is one of the experiences most likely to cement a feeling of connection to another person. Remember that in your dealings.

Go forth and flourish darling. XOXO
